Frequently asked questions

Is this really a one-time payment?
Yes. Every tier is a one-time purchase. We have no servers to maintain, no cloud costs to recoup, and no reason to charge you every month. Your data lives on your machine — we couldn't charge a subscription for something we don't host even if we wanted to.
What happens if I switch distros?
Your license key works on any Linux distribution. Install LogSaiS on your new machine, paste your key, and you're set. Lifetime licenses are transferable between personal devices.
Do I need an Anthropic API key?
Only if you want AI summaries. Without one, the app falls back to local Ollama (free, runs on your machine). Or you can use it purely as a verified event log — no AI required.
Does this send my data anywhere?
No. All events are stored in a local SQLite database. If you use Claude for AI summaries, the summary prompt is sent to Anthropic's API — but you can see exactly what gets sent, and you can use Ollama locally instead. There is no telemetry, no analytics, no phoning home.
What Linux distros are supported?
Fedora (including Atomic/Silverblue), Ubuntu, Debian, Arch, and derivatives. RPM and DEB packages available. AppImage for portable use.
